caugh caugh hack hack

This week was excruciatingly slow. Christi spent the whole week in bed sick with bronchitis, well most of it. Naya is also having a difficult time with the baby, in the picture below she crawled into a box covered herself up and then proceeded to pretend to be a baby. All week long she has insisted she is a baby and refused to do any big kid skills like the potty and her pacifier which she had almost stopped. Please help us to remind Naya of all the cool big kid thing she gets to do now and encourage her to be a big gril.

Monday was as normal as ever even though Christi didn't feel good everyone went to their respective daytime activities. Christi was babied at work due to the pregnancy and sounding and feeling sick. You have to love Hispanic Grandma's.

Tuesday brought Christi calling in to work but didn't stay home real well, instead she tagged along with Donna and Naya running errands and then dropped Donna and the girls at dance. While they were dancing she took Dreigan to the Cardiolab at SJRMC to have an EKG. Don't worry it just a standard test for his cardiology appointment on Thursday.

Wednesday brought Christi feeling worse, probably should have stayed home on Tuesday. In fact by the time Nick got home that evening Christi was wheezing so bad he promptly loaded everyone back up in the van and took Christi to ICC. Thanks Cathy and Steve for watching the kids. Christi's o2 levels were low but not bad. She was order to stay home the rest of the week and placed on antibiotics.

Thursday Dreigan had his routine Cardiology appointment. Everything looks good he doesn't have to been seen again for two years, and he can stay on his meds. Good thing his teacher might have revolted if we took him off. Please pray for Dreigan he hasn't seen Dextin (his biological Dad) in a while and he is feeling it. I know he is grieving, but it doesn't make the angry outbursts any better. It can be very hard on Nick who takes the brunt of it for multiple reasons.

Friday and Saturday brought more rest for Christi who is finally beginning to feel better. Nick, Dreigan and Fionna also worked to clean up the shed so that Fionna and Naya can use it as a play house. Which reminds me last week Sam's club had a wooden child's play house for about $300 would we like to buy Fionna one big present this year for her birthday? She was very excited by it. The picture below is the girls attempt at make-up using makers. Thank God Crayola is washable.

A long week

This week was very long and I don't know how to even explain it. I am going to to forgo my usual format, for awhile. So Here goes.
This all started in March Christi has been feeling very ill since then. She has been having diarrhea, nausea, fatigue, a moderate stomach ache, and long breaks between very heavy periods. So on the last Thursday in June she went to see her doctor to try to discover what is going on. During he exam Dr Cassidy felt an abnormal mass and was concerned be the tenderness in Christi's belly, so blood work, and two ultrasounds were ordered.
Blood work came back last week for the most part results were good. Cholesterol was low, sugar was normal and so on. The only two that didn't come back as suspected was the cancer marker was high and the pregnancy test came back positive. Don't get to excited there was nothing definitive until after the ultrasounds. Those two test together can mean a few diffrent thing, also don't forget the unexplained mass.

Monday-Christi had her first ultrasound, this one was uterine. It was there we saw a six to seven week old pregnancy right were it's suppose to be and heard a heart beat. It was wonderful news under the circumstance. Okay you can get excited now. Also in the evening we went over to Paul's and met Teresa (Paul's new girlfriend)

Tuesday brought the second ultrasound, I have not gotten the report back on this one, but in this one they were looking for endometriosis, which is uterine lining outside the uterus on other organs. The kids also had dance and scouts. At scouts Paul (Christi's Dad) came and taught the boys wood working. Thanks Dad for your help the boys really enjoyed it.

Wednesday we went shopping for our camping trip

Thursday we packed for camping and met with Dr Chang the high risk OB in town. He didn't see any thing to be to overly concerned, but he did warn that the high cancer marker while it might just be normal for me it could mean a miscarriage later into what is the normal time period and or pre-term labor.

Friday after work we joined Cathy, Steve, and the pack at La Plata canyon for a weekend of family camping fun. Here are few pictures of all our fun
A fawn we got to see very up close. Don't worry Mommy was near by and we didn't touch.

Saturday we took a truck ride up the canyon to look at rocks and play in snow in the morning and went on hike to find a mine above our campground. They never found it, the adults over estimated what a 6-9 year olds can do.

Sunday we drove up to the mine at the top of La Plata Canyon to collect more rocks for the boys belt loops.
The Mine Then we packed up and came home very dirty and tired.

Naya's turn

Okay if you can't tell this week is Naya's turn to be in the spotlight.

Sunday the kids went to Wall-E with Cathy and Steve leaving Nick and Christi 90 minutes of child free time, so precious. So we spent it running errands, so romantic. Ah such is the life of a parent. The children highly recommend it. Naya has talked about it all week.

Monday was Monday work and child care. Actually since we still didn't have the van back Donna kept the kids home all day.

Tuesday saw Naya go to her second dance class. She loves it. She dances all through the week and can barely wait for the afternoon on Tuesday's. I can not believe how big she is. For those of you keeping track she has officially out weighed Fionna for the last six months, Fionna still has a few inches. This means they wear the same size pants, but make sure the waist band is adjustable. We have to let the waist band most the way out and roll up the legs for Naya and let the legs down and pull the waist band way up for Fionna. The pictures below are Naya putting on her ballet slippers and then Fionna being a good big sister helping her.

Oh yeah we got the van back on Tuesday as well. We had a slipping belt and the computer was whacked. It had blown a relay between the fan and itself which needed replacing. The mechanic tried but could convince the computer all was okay so we will have to live with blinking lights on the dash. Dreigan also had Cub Scouts where the boys worked on geology and astronomy belt loops. We are planning to do the practical part this up coming weekend while camping. That's right camping again. I don't think I have ever gone camping so much with one group, except SCA, in one summer. It has answered a question for us Dreigan does getting better and more relaxed at it the more we go, and we are getting our money worth from our gear.

Wednesday we just went to work and stayed home. Dreigan and Fionna went skating with the boys and girls club for the first time ever. Fionna says she fell a lot. They took their skates they got for Christmas last year. We also chases around a moth the cats brought in, that's Dreigan's foot next to the moth.

Thursday was more of the same. Dreigan and Fionna went bowling with the boys and girls club. Dreigan made a strike but not Fionna the ball was a little heavy.

Friday Dreigan went to Durango rafting with the boys and girls club, Fionna didn't want to go. Fionna and Naya hung out at Karen's playing with each other. Here is a picture of Nick still being able to put Fionna asleep, just like he did when she was only an hour old.

Saturday we literally watched movies all day and did absolutely nothing. Well that's not true Fionna's cat Aurora came in looking like she came out on the loosing side a fight with a mud monster. This is the bath tub after it drained from her bath. In the evning we made pudding for dessert. Naya still loves pudding. Here is a picture from Saturday with her pudding beard and a picture for when she was about a year old wearing I think more than she ate. I think she is getting neater.

Freedon Days in Farmington

Okay let me preempt this by saying the green van has been is the shop all week getting its afore mentioned computer and other electrical system glitches fixed. So we did all this with one car, three working adult who all work full time, and three children who have social calenders that can rival any one's. So lets begin.

Monday was easy Donna kept all the children home and Nick and Christi went to work.

Tuesday Christi took Nick to work and went on to work. At lunch time she came home. Donna and the kids dropped her back off to work. At 3 Naya went to her first dance class, she was so excited. At 4 Fionna started her class. Luckily Tami Jo (Christi's Cousin) and her daughter Aubrey (Fionna's Best Friend) walked in. Since Christi was stranded at work, Nick caught a ride with a co-worker. So Tami stayed with the kids and Donna picked Christi up and brought her to dance school. Right after dance Christi dropped off the girls and Donna, threw some quick food at herself and Dreigan and rushed off to Cub Scouts. Okay Tuesday done.

Wednesday everyone got up early and took Nick and Christ in to Farmington for work. Donna brought the kids back, got them ready for their day and dropped them off at their respected daytime activities. Picked Christi up for lunch, where she dropped Donna off at worke and went back to her job. Christi at the end of the day picked Nick and the kids up and went home to do the evening routine. At 10pm Christi and Naya (she doesn't sleep at night) went to pick Donna up from work.

Thursday Christi took Nick to work came home grabbed everyone up so she could be dropped off at work. Donna once again got the kids ready and dropped them off. Then picked Christi up for lunch, where Christi dropped Donna off at work and went back to her work, which today is at the class all the way in Bloomfield. Christi after work picked the kids and Nick and proceeded to Gateway Park to hear Steve play and watch fireworks. The kids went with Steve and Cathy to spend the night. At 10 Nick and Christi picked-up Donna and went home.

Friday thank God for paid holidays. Late morning, at 11 Nick, Christi, and Donna loaded up and took Donna to work. Nick and Christi join the kids at Cathy and Steve's for a Bar-B-Q. It was delicious thanks. Fionna was picked up from Cathy and Steve's by Tami to spend the night with Aubrey. Dreigan was dropped at 4 with Papaw (the Wilson side of his family) to spend rest of the holiday with them. Christi then dropped Naya and Nick at home since Naya hadn't had a nap. Christi then proceeded to head to down town Farmington where she walked in the parade promoting Head Start. After the parade Christi picked up Donna and crashed out.

Saturday luckily only Naya was home so we got up and got ready for the Ice Cream Social since Christi was manning the Head Start booth there as well from 11 to 1. So we dropped Donna off at work and headed to Freedom days. Where Nita( Christi's boss) let her off early since she had been putting in so many hours. Nick, Christi and Naya enjoyed freedom day. Unfortunately we have heard nothing on the van or did we get pictures this week. We are just happy to be through with this crazy week and are just about ready to start a new one.
