If you can't tell from the title we are all very busy preparing for Christmas. We have manged to clean the house to most of the pregnant nesting woman's satisfaction, hang the decorations, start making Christmas goodies, and start wrapping presents (We have most of them bought). Along with celebrating Advent (we finally have our own wreath) and Hanukkah (as started by our church in ABQ). It's kind of like when we celebrate passover with the Wilson's (if your interested we will be happy to explain more).
The kids are out for the break so there is very little news
The plans for the holiday are as stands:
24th
Nick and Christi work.
Candle light service at 6pm at FUMCB, The kids are not singing all but our family and one other child dropped and it is not enough kids to really be heard. All are welcome to join us if they wish.
Dinner and presents, 7:30pm with Jim, Susie, Paul, & Teresa (if they are in town) at Nick and Christi's. If anyone else wants to join us be warned it will be BYOC (bring your own chair) and possilby standing room only and exceed fire code. Our house is very small and can only handel a few extra people at a time.
25th
AM breakfast and presents with Donna (she is working all days)
PM We will appear at Cathy and Steve's somewhere around noon give or take an hour, or a child or two. Dreigan's schedule with Dextin has not been finalized and as always we have to share :p I will try my best to keep him as long as I can so he won't miss seeing anybody.

Weird Weather
Today marks our second day in a row of snow here in Bloomfield. The schools even took a snow day. I'm just not sure why, the snow is melting itself as it falls. It's sooo weird. We can't seem to get more than a dusting at best. Plus it's been snowing all day, but the roads are dry. I know because I just ran to the store to get an cream of tartar so the kids and I can finish the gingerbread house, we needed more frosting.
Ahonora- Nick and Christi have decided to add an A to the front of her name. She also had her last monthly ob appointment now for every other week. She also had another ultra sound. This time we did get to see her little face, until she had enough and out her hands and feet in front of her face. She is measuring between 3.5 and 4 pounds and has all the right parts.
Naya- Has decided she is a baby this week. She talks only when completely necessary and wants to be carried and so on.
Fionna-really enjoyed making a gingerbread house today while we had the day off from school. If it had been up to her the house would have been completely covered.
Dreigan- Did an excellent job on Sunday at the cantata. Originally the kids were not suppose to be it in because we missed the rehearsal when we went to ABQ, but when we went to the rehearsal for the service on Christmas eve the kids had to quickly had to learn the music because they were not expecting enough kids. At this point in time weather or not the kids are singing on the 24th is up in the air. It completely depends on how many kids can make it. We will keep you posted.
Christi-Has had a boring week of nothing, besides being weirded out by the weather and a forced extra day off.
Nick- says nothing
Donna-just keeps on
Christmas schedule
As it stands this is what we are tentatively proposing:
24th
Am Nick and Christi have to work
PM candle light service 6:30pm (kids might be performing)
Opening presents with Holcombe's??? (let us know if it will work) @ Nick & Christi's
25th
AM opening present with kids
Pm Opening present with Stamet's and Dinner
If anyone has any changes or if this works let Christi know.

Our Great Christmas Kick Off
Once again in trying to get into the great holiday spirit and achieve a Norman Rockwell Christmas we spent this last weekend very busy. I think we might have achieved A National Lanpoon's Christmas instead.
Okay are you ready for this:
Thursday in order to give Nick more time to do some more initial recovery from his procedure Christi took the three (four) kids to Farmington's Christmas light parade.
Friday Nick still recovering, Christi took the kids to BHS Christmas Carol the musical. The kids loved it Scrooge, Crachit, Marley and all.
Saturday Nick and Christi drove the kids to ABQ spent a large chunk of time on Saturday shopping then took the kids to the River of Lights.
Sunday Nick and Christi took the kids t the Nutcracker at Pope Joy Hall and more shopping
Monday was Bloomfield's Christmas light parade, which was freezing because it was pouring rain. All persevered through it as the pack had a float entered into the parade.
Ahonora/Honora: Loves music every time she was taken somewhere this week with music she was in constant movement. Maybe Nick and Christi should just sign over their bank account to Mann Dance Academy now.
Naya discovered the joys of live theater this week. She watched both the musical and ballet with wide mouth amazement. She also asked very insightful question about the plots and remembered most of the theater manners which is very good for just being three.
Fionna was so thrilled when her parents handed her the camera at the River of Lights all we can say was it was a good thing we have a 2gb memory disk in our camera.
Dreigan discovered the joy of giving to others. He begged Nick and Christi to let him spend his money on a toy and was thrilled when Christi told him to put it on the counter she would pay for it. He then be came upset when she had place it in the toys for tots box, that is is when Christi had the nice young Marine standing there explain what they were doing. Dreigan found it made him feel great to know he picked a real cool toy for a kid this Christmas who otherwise might not have got anything at all.
Christi was severely upset on Tuesday after all that work the federal inspectors did not show at all. They completely misjudged the distance from community to community in New Mexico and only had enough time to look at one building in San Juan County, needless to say her one room classroom was not the one. She also became very ill to her stomach unable even hold down water while in ABQ.
Nick had a long end of the week as he has had a minor procedure done on Thursday that has placed him on light duty for a while. He is recovering well but no heavy lifting is not easy with Naya weighing over 40 lbs.
Donna has a new feline friend. Earlier this week or late last week this young adult male cat showed up at our house. As cats do when they decide this is where they want to live he could not be dissuaded to go elsewhere. He has also decide he is Donna's as he sleep on her bed, lays in her lap, and does all those affection thing for her. He is very good with all the kids which is a plus and loves to play with Aurora. Naya named him Black Boy or BB for short we are not really sure why , except he has a gray and black striped cape and hood and a white belly.

Christmas wishes
Due to popular demands here are a few ideas for Christmas for us.
We are asking a minimal number of toys, the kids have so many already. Books and movies are always welcome, just let us know or make sure there is a gift receipt in case of duplicate titles.
Dreigan is in to all things Star Wars again. He is wearing size 8/10 clothes and shoe size 3 31/2. He has also requested new tubes for his bike, the ones that can not be popped. We have a ton of goat heads on our street and they pop bike tubes very quickly. How can you ride a bike when the tires are always flat? He has also requested an electric blanket.
Fionna is into Hannah Montanan. She wears size 5/6 clothes and shoe size 11. She really likes her clothes to be girly and can be very picky about how they look, if you want to buy her clothes I strongly suggest you buy her a gift card so that she can buy what she wants. She can also use unpoppable inter tubes for her bike and an electric blanket.
Naya is into the new baby and cares for her dolls and stuffed animal all the time. She wears size 4/5 and shoe size 10. She is not quite as picky and thinks her brother is cool so she will wear more masculine clothes. She can use and electric blanket as well.
All three kids benefit from adjustable waist bands, especially the girls since they wear the same size but are built differently.
Nick has requested Heros season 2 and Scrub season 2-7.
Christi has discovered she does not have roasting pan or any medium frying pans. She has the big 10 inch ones and small 5 in ones but nothing in between. Helpful cooking gadgets are also welcome. We do lots of home cooking
Of course gift cards are always welcome.

Giving Thanks
We have had one of those weeks that reminds you of all you have to be thankful for, family, friends, health, and even our jobs.
Honora stays awake all night and is very quite during the day, which can only mean sleeping. Thus teaching Christi to be thankful for sleep.
Naya was taken to see the fantasy of light in Aztec by her parents and big sister. There they went on a carriage ride to better be able to see the lights. She also got to go to a big girl party with Christi and Fionna, where she was the youngest guest. It was a jewelry party. She enjoyed getting to try on the diffrent pieces, Woo hoo big girl dress up! She is learning to be thankful she is no longer a baby and can enjoy doing big girl things. Naya has also taken to saying the most surprising and funny things such as "Time to be awake, the sun is awake outside." "Tables aren't for kids to dance on." While playing with Legos at Dreigan's psychiatrist appointment proceeded to have the following conversation. " Are you building a tower Dr Simon?" to which he replies "No its a camera" Takes her picture, hands it to her and waits for his picture. "Are you going to take my picture?" "No its a helicopter." Naya says confused like it was perfectly obvious. Dr Simon say we are to have her test for gifted, like there was any doubt she would be anything else.
Dreigan learned to thankful Nebraska is changing it's safe heaven law and that the nearest hospital in Nebraska is 10-12 hours away from Bloomfield. He decided to ditch school this week, but mostly he has been well behaved, within pre-teen reason. Lets just hope he doesn't push so far before they change the law and we do drive to Nebraska.
Fionna has learned to read. She still requires some help, but often surprises herself and the adults around her when she reads without thinking about it. She also has learned the joy of bathing. Now the only problem we have is getting her out of the shower. If we will let her she take two long showers everyday, so opposite from Dreigan who he takes a shower every three to four days under duress. Fionna says she is thankful for her new sister.
Christi put in over forty hours this week at work, and yes that is with taking Thursday and Friday off. So she apologizes to anyone she offended this week. If Donna hadn't ordered Thanksgiving dinner through the church and Cathy hadn't said dinner is served at 5pm Christi would have forgotten completely what week it was and we would have had no Thanksgiving dinner plans at all. Who schedules a major inspection the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday following a major holiday? The good news is that her bosses could not find anything wrong when they came in to inspect, so she got to schedule adjust out all the time she as worked. Christi doesn't get over time but can take worked over hours off somewhere else so that it all comes out even. Christi will be thankful when this federal inspection is over, please continue to pray, if this review goes well Head Start in San Juan county may get an increase in funding, if not we could lose funding.
Nick says he is thankful for his job. He was home Thursday and Friday paid. This his his first job that he has not had to work holidays and gets to spend time at home with his family.
Donna says she is thankful for still being able to work. It sounds crazy but true, many people who physically been through what she has gone through would have given up work and gone on disability a long time ago. Donna still manges to work 40 hours a week.

all things expected and unexpected
This week was as expected and unexpected all at the same time. Which always causes stress, but don't distress it is what keeps life from being boring. Just the way we like it. If we have learned anything there is no point in worrying about tomorrow, it is not here yet and we can not control what happens in it. Don't regret the decisions of yesterday, you made the decision you thought was best at the time. All we have is today and now and we have to make the best of it. I find that by approaching life this way the expected and unexpected doesn't stress us as much.
Honora continues to grow and move all the time. She has started to her best rendition of the scene from Alien.
Naya has decided to embrace being a big sister. She has found the box of baby toys, her favorite thing to do with the toys is to lay them out on Christi's belly so that Honora can play with them.
Fionna had a Daisy/Brownie meeting meeting. She had a great time the girls made pumpkin pie shakes. She also went on Thursday with Mel( Christi's friend) to SJC to have a manicure and pedicure. What a big girl and she did a great job helping Mel feel better. I will explain latter.
Dreigan had a relatively normal week for him. He has decided he is into origami. Mostly he uses any and all paper he can get his hand on to build paper bases for his army men to play on.
Christi found out that out of the 12 head start/ early head start classrooms out of 25 classroom in San Juan County that were to be selected to be audited hers is one of them. That means all the little things that have been put off now have to be completed. They are scheduled to arrive Dec 1,2, &3rd. This means all Thanksgiving plan are completely in the air. On Tuesday her mangers will come to check the classroom, if it is up to par she will have a half day on Wednesday and Friday off. If they are not satisfied then time off for Thanksgiving will be canceled. They are also holding Christmas bonus until this time or after the 3rd, the bosses are telling which. She also had to go to new leader essentials for the girl scouts. As crazy as it sound Christi had some of the most years in girl scouting out of the dozen or so women in the room. Most of it was review of what she had learned a an older youth scout and from BSA. She did learn a new song.
Nick says he is happy that him and Christi have passed the American average length of a marriage in America.
Donna is doing better. On Friday she took Starlight to the vet. The vet said she could do a series of expensive treatment for his cancer, liver failure and renal failure or she could put him down. So at 12:15 on Friday Star joined Smudge in the care of Noah. Fionna decide when smudge died that Noah takes care of the animals in heaven, and who is to say she is wrong. We are relieved that our dear friend of 15 years is no longer in pain.
Other news:
The kids have been recruited to help in Bloomfield Methodist's Christmas program they will perform on 13, 14, and 24.
We have set a baby registry at Wal-Mart
Last please keep Melody Buser in your prayers. She recently has been going through a series of personal issues that have been very draining on her. Earlier this week though it became more, it was discovered that she is in the early stages of uterian cancer. Do to all her health concerns she has opted for a hysterectomy after Thanksgiving. This would not be so upsetting if Mel was not yet 30.

celabration
Celebrations mark this week. We celebrated Naya's 3rd, Caelyn's 1st and Ben's 23rd birthdays. Oh yeah Nick and Christi's eighth anniversary. Wow that's a lot of events and that's just Nick's family. We can't forget to wish Paul (Christi's Dad) and happy belated birthday from the 1st, he's a left over goblin, and Susie (Christi's Aunt) a belated birthday as well on the 5th. So that means in a two and half week period we have 5 birthdays and one anniversary, wow!
Naya thanks Ben and Lara for her teddy bear cake she wanted. Her aunt and uncle made her such a wonderful cake. She also declare this to be her best birthday ever, so form Naya's point of view sharing her birthday party with Caelyn was the absolute best. She has also this taken to making characterture of us out of Mr. Potato head, or so she declares, "This is you" as she hands it to us. We are not always sure it looks like us but she says so.
Fionna loved getting to hang out all day Friday with her cousin Caelyn. She loved getting to hold her and playing dress-up with her. She also got to have her first girl only girl scout meeting . It looks as if her troop will have around eight little girls in it. Her new troop number is 10068.
Dreigan has had another tough week. On Tuesday we kept him home due to violent behavior in which he threatened or tried to injure every member of the family. He also declared nobody loves him which hurts since all three adult stayed home from work to take care of him. What usually sets off these fits is Dreigan not getting his way and some how he believes that if he can be the biggest baddest thing the he will get to be in charge and do what ever he wants. On the flip side he has been great about cleaning-up, once he gets started. He has also become super excited about reading simple chapter books and now takes a book with him everywhere and chooses to read. Of course mostly this is all because we have changed our normal again, which always freaks him out.
Honora grows and grows
Christi has a serious case of nesting, as a result the rest of the family is suffering. She has reached her limit on clutter and has declared this weekend slave weekend until the house is clean and organized.
Nick declares is proud of himself for not killing Dreigan or at least driving him to Nebraska and leaving him there.
Donna has returned to work this week. She is on light duty but she is very happy to be working again. Please continue pray as her leg still continues to be tender if she uses to much or the wrong way.
I was inspired by Nick and Christ's anniversary and Scott and Becky's example. They posted on their blog the story of how they met and eventually married. So here is Nick and Christi's story:
We can not tell you the exact date but what we can tell is that it was during the 89/90 school year. We met in the storm doors of Mesa Verde Elementary school. It was Nick's first day of gifted and he was forced to wait for the bus, that would take him there, with Christi, Lynn (Christi's oldest friend), and Becca (Christi's sister). Nobody can remember what words were exactly exchanged, but it is agreed upon that the three girls were not very nice. They teased poor Nick mercilessly, the girls being in the 4th and 5th grade and him being in the 3rd. Nick does remember thinking he hated girls especially these three girls. Fortunately for the kids Nick and Christi were able to form a friendship over the years they spent growing-up together. They grew-up in houses that were blocks apart, went to the same schools, and shared extracurricular activities like band and future problem solvers, so that by the time both Nick and Christi were in high school they were fairly close friends, though Nick was a closer friend with Becca, if fact she dated one of Nick's best friends. They did hang out frequently as a result.
Nick and Christi rekindled their friendship when Nick returned to Farmington from Socorro. He was there just in time to be be the rock Christi leaned on just in a time when she really needed him. He was there at all hours to listen, hang out and babysit when needed. For Christi he was truly God sent. Slowly over many months their long time friendship changed into something else. As they both realized that their relationship changed took them both by surprise at first. When they finally recognized what was happening, something that ALL their friends could see before them, their relationship moved quickly. They decided to see each other exclusively on April 30 2000 and were married on November 18th 2000, but then again after knowing each other at this point time over 11 years there wasn't much they didn't already know about the other one. They have found over the last eight years that their long time friendship is still very much the base of their relationship and has helped them get through many of the difficult time they have encountered. Many married couples when they get married say that they are marring their best friend but for Nick and Christi this is true and remains true eight years later. They pray that this continued "friendship with benefits" proves to be an example that Dreigan, Fionna, Naya, and Honora follow in their choices for mates.
Naya thanks Ben and Lara for her teddy bear cake she wanted. Her aunt and uncle made her such a wonderful cake. She also declare this to be her best birthday ever, so form Naya's point of view sharing her birthday party with Caelyn was the absolute best.

3,6,&9
Does Christ's biological clock have rhythm or what? Saturday marked Naya's 3rd birthday, giving our family a 3,6 & 9 year olds
Naya spent a large part of her third birthday in her birthday suit. She also went to dance. Due to Donna's injury we have had to move the girls to a Saturday class. Naya seems to really love it. This class is really small 6 girls, but is two level higher than her class on Tuesday so they tap. Naya is trying very hard to learn to tap when she is so much younger than everyone else. Her teacher is great and understands that she is barely three and threes aren't normally asked to tap. We think she will get it in time to perform the tap routine on June 12 in her and Fionna's dance concert.
Fionna also started Saturday dance class. At first she didn't want Naya in the same class as her, now she seems to really be enjoying it. She helps her sister get ready and change her shoes from ballet to tap. Christi also had a parent/teacher conference for Fionna. It was glowing in addition to her excellent report card she has met three out of the five speech goals on her IEP.
Dreigan worked on a service project with the pack on Saturday. We went over to one of the older members of the church's house and cleaned-up the yard. It's such a simple thing to do but was greatly appreciated. In a little over an hour six boys and five adults cleaned up an acre plus yard. The boys removed almost a dozen large black bags of leaves from the yard. We are so proud of all our boys. Christi also met with Dreigan's teachers. As unexpected Dreigan's conference was also very good. He is pretty much right where the rest of his classmates are and since September until now he has made growth. It seems that his biggest stumbling block is that he just doesn't get phonics (letter sounds) making difficult to sound out and try to spell unfamiliar words. He has been placed into a special program to try to help him to learn phonics
Honora continues to grow
Christi this week worked very hard. Between forty hours in the classroom in which it was her week to run the classroom, plan and carry out the lesson plan. The weird part was the theme pumpkins and one couldn't be found to be bought anywhere. Luckily Dreigan donated his so that the kids could explore a pumpkin. This was also pack meeting week, so that had to be coordinated, along with the pack service project, and all the paperwork to renew the pack's charter for next year had to be completed. Oh yeah don't forget starting the girls troop as well.
Nick has been great since Christi is on lifting restriction and Donna is on no walking he has had to do almost all the house work, which we all know is like Nick least favorite thing to do. He has been cooking, doing the dishes, washing laundry, ect.
Donna has had the doctor change their minds again. After reviewing her MRI they have decided that she didn't fracture her hip but just severely bruised and irritated the bursa. She still is on weight restriction, but it will heal faster than a break.

Halloween
Believe it or not Halloween is as busy for us as Christmas or Thanksgiving. Both girls had costume parties on Tuesday at Ballet class on top of that we had a party at scouts Tuesday nights.Thursday brought the Bloomfield Boys and Girls Club annual Halloween carnival. Then of course there is still Friday, the big kids both had Halloween parties at school even if they couldn't dress up, and in the evening went to Emanuel Baptist's carnival.
You will have to excuse the quality of the pictures my camera was acting up, so we had use the camera in my phone.
Naya for Halloween was suppose to be a bag of jelly beans, but when the time came she refused to wear it. They were two clear trash bags with lots of colored balloons in it (so cute.) Naya has also decided this week she has a baby in her tummy.
Here she dressed in a colorful outfit, hair and make-up done.
"Alright water play"
Too much Halloween!
Fionna was an angel she was so pretty. We also got Fi's first report card as you can see it is very good, and if you can't she has mastered a large portion of the skills she needed to pass Kindergarten (it's only the first quarter).
This is a picture of her beautiful face painting from the BB&GC. She patiently waited nearly 30 minutes to get it done.

This is her face painting from Emanuel Baptist
Just a great shot of her costume.
Dreigan is a "green" knight or a knight in recycled armor. In fact he made his costume himself for cub scouts , he had a homemade costume contest. Dreigan did a great job but didn't win.
Dreigan also got his report card, not as good as we had hoped. Take a look and see what you think.

Baby- We would like announced we have decided to name the baby Honora Bryn, final spelling has not been decided. She is growing well, we are sure. In fact Christi wore a brides maid dress Thursday, she wore at six months pregnant with Fionna, which Honora is only five months and stretched the dress more than when Christi wore it in the wedding. She moves all the time. Presses into Christi's stomach when ever the kids come near by, its seems she can't wait to play with big kids, but she better.
Christi also had a week of fun in her class. They had crazy week. Monday was crazy hat day, to which we discovered we don't own one. Tuesday was crazy sock day, so what does a person who wears mismatched novelty socks do on crazy sock day? Wear matching white socks of course. Wednesday was pajama day, too bad its not everyday. Thursday they had a fairytale tea so Christi obliged and dressed as the very necessary Fairy God Mother wings and all. Her class had Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Tinker bell, Elmo, and Superman came to the tea (the only way the kids and adults can wear costumes in Head Start). All in all it was very successful. Friday was crazy hair day Christi had five pony tales.
Nick says the outage drill on Friday was long. He also gets to cross-train his coworker and vise-versa. He has six months until his supervisor retires and he becomes the warehouse manger.
Donna saw the orthopedic doctor this week and he says the other doctors are wrong. She did fracture it. She is now at home for an extended time with no weight on it so that the fracture can heal. We have borrowed a walker, shower chair, ect. from Cathy and Steve.

A nothing week
We had a perfectly normal, boring week. One of those rare and wonderful weeks with few surprises.
Naya went with Christi on Friday to vote. Christi filled out the ballot, but Naya put the ballot in the box. If you ask she will now say Barack Obama /Jonh McCain. She has also decided to work very hard on using the potty.
Fionna says nothing happened this week but she would like to let her family know that she loves you all very much.
Dreigan spent the weekend with his dad. Now lets pray his attitude doesn't get too bad. He also announced that this month he has read 11 books for the cub scout reading contest. Apparently we have found books he likes; Goosebumps, Ricky Ricotta,Magic Treehouse, and Star Wars Clone Wars.
Christi has finally gotten most the information needed to start the girl scout troop. Who wants to be bored. Work keeps going.
Nick learned this week he will be in charge of the next outage trailer.
Baby is so glad you like her cousin's name. That's right Elizabeth is Becca and Chris's name they have chosen if they have a daughter. That means everyone try again, really do you think Christi and Nick would pick such a common name. The baby's OB appointment also went well she is growing right on schedule and the due date of March 3 as been confirmed by the ultrasound. Now lets see Fionna was born four days after her due date and Naya two week after, of course Dreigan was born on his due date, so we will see.

Life's ups and downs
Sadly as we prepare to welcome a new member to our family we must say good-bye to another. On Friday Smudge was hit by a car and killed. It appears as she was crossing Hwy 64, she was struck and instantly killed. All the children seem to be taking it reasonably well, each as their personalties and age has allowed. Smudge will be missed she was easily our most loving cat even if she would not get into your lap. All the cats seemed to like her, mostly though Starlight will miss her. Smudge often brought him things to eat, especially when he was having problems moving. She was an excellent and very patient mother cat who never failed to allow us to hold and play with her kittens. She will be missed.
Naya- Scared us all this week. She has finally decided she is too big for pacifiers. As a result of unplugging her mouth all kinds of words came out. The most surprising was she can name the presidential candidates on sight. That's right she can tell you who Barrack Obama and John McCain are. If ask her who you should vote for she will say Barrack Obama and then launch into why in Nayaesse, so I can't tell you why. We are not sure if we agree with her either, but if you are undecided still maybe Naya's opinoin can help even if you don't know why.
Fionna- Had a very confusing week. Wednesday was a teacher in-service day as a result she had issues all week over which day of the week it is. Poor girl.
Dreigan-The pack went to the Ren Faire in Farmington. It was there he saw Dextin (bio-dad) for the first time in six weeks. He was suppose to spend Sunday with Dreigan but stood him up of course.
Christi- Had in-service at work and won the contest where she could name more policies and procedures than anyone else in children's services. She also enjoyed keeping all of you wondering all week about the baby.
Nick-Says he has nothing to say at all as usual. He is so uncooperative.
Donna-Has declared she hates children's messes. Coming in late from work the other night she tripped and fell on a book the kids left out and hurt her leg. Luckily she just bruised it really bad and did not fracture it.
Baby- It is a health little girl. That's right we are expecting our third little girl. Guess Nick gets to one of those big burly guys with a slew of little girls.

Say Hello!

Say Hello to the newest member of the Stamets family. The baby is as camera shy as Nick, so we didn't get any 3d pictures of the face just this great profile. It looks almost as if the baby is blowing bubbles. Yes, we know the sex but it our little secret for a while. Don't forget to vote on the poll.

Two weeks already
My does time fly when your having fun.
Fionna in the last two weeks has turned 6 years old. She celebrated with many of her family and a dozen or so of friends. Her party did have to be moved from the park to our church's social hall due to the unstable weather. She has become such a little lady, for birthday she received a new girly bike, a watch, two dresses, and make-up. That's right Nick and Christi gave in and let her have make-up well play make-up but actually you wear it make-up. Her class also took a trip to the pumpkin patch.

Naya has been very jealous she has repeatedly asked where her presents are, to which she gets reminded next month, when she is having her "teddy bear party" according to her. She has also struggled with teething, as she cuts her last set of molar for a while, and her asthma. All the rain and warm/cold days have cause lots pollen here and smoke from fire places here.
Dreigan has been eaten by the pack, from selling popcorn, meetings, field trips, parades and scout recruitment fairs. He has had his uniform on a total of 6 times in the last two weeks. It is so hard to keep it anywhere looking clean when he has it on like every other day. Its a good thing that his teacher doesn't believe in sending true homework home, only incomplete classwork. She believes children should be aloud to play, do after school activities, and spend time with their families instead of doing hours of homework. He was also invited to a birthday party, the first time in three years, a boy from the pack. He had so much fun he did not want to come home.

Christi had an ultrasound scheduled on Tuesday the 7th, unfortunately had to rescheduled to the 13th. So we will still all have to wait. Otherwise she has been very busy with scouts as well and her job. She forgot how much she loves working with children. Its amazing to watch them grow and blossom.
Nick just wishes our lives would slow down. As all those who love him know, Nick's idea of an excellent day is sitting at home doing nothing at all. We have not had many of those lately.
We would like to encourage everyone to vote in the poll, no registration necessary, list yourself in followers, and just make comment every once in a while, we love to here from you. To register all you have to do is list your screen name and e-mail, don't worry your spam won't increase.

Birthdays on the Brain
Christi's birthday marks the expensive time for us. We have a birthday every month between September and January. If the baby is born in February the pattern will continue, but as of yet Christi has not delivered before her due date. SO.......
Christi celebrated her 31st birthday. She was taken out to eat a total of four times. She also had an OB appointment on her birthday, no concerns the baby's heart beat sounded great. The baby even kicked the Doppler and yes Christi can feel it.

Nick says he has the most uninteresting life ever. We disagree Nick's boss mentioned this week to both Cathy and Steve and Nick that he is putting Nick in for management testing.
Dreigan was placed on Ablifiy on Monday. We don't know if it was a coincidences or the medication but he gave Christi the best preset he got himself up in the shower and ready for school with very little struggle on Tuesday. The school also reports better behavior. He is also selling popcorn if you would like to order some please let us know. Out of town family can order from Dreigan if they wish log on to www.gswcbsa.org, Fill in pack 324, Bloomfield, Dreigan Wilson on the order form. He also went with the Wilson's to Sutherlen farm, the pumpkin patch. He missed the popcorn booth sell for this.
Fionna has a new best friend, Hailey. She has moved into a house down the street and is only a few months older. She spent the night with her on Saturday and every free moment.
Naya has spent the week trying to keep up with the big kids, not wanting to e left behind and very unhappy when she had to be because she wasn't big enough to go. She did have mom and dad all to herself on Saturday. she thought that was as cool as cool could be.
Aurora just wanted to say Hello!

No rest of the wicked!!!
If that's true Christi must have been very wicked this week. Monday was her first full day at her new job. Tuesday brought scouts and at scouts, due to very strange things, Christi is new the cub master for pack 324. Wednesday she had a home visit which made her run late in picking up everyone. Thursday brought another home visit and family night for Head Start. Friday the boys and Girls club was close and what should have been simple became complicated. Apparently Dreigan's school to Christi's new classroom is walking distance. The only problem is Dreigan didn't know the way, so Christi left work and picked him up from work and then returned to work. Then Fionna refused to get off the bus at Christi's work, which scared Christi and everyone else, because Christi and Dreigan could not get down the block fast enough to help her feel better. She was expecting brother on the bus and wasn't real sure what to do without him
Dreigan had a great week his behavior for the most part was improved. He also had a field trip with the pack to the library, where he showed the members of our pack who had never been to the library before around the library.
Fionna went to a swimming birthday party on Friday, in fact she brought the whole family. As a family we had a ton of fun.
Naya had a normal week for the most part. She is adjusting to Christi's new early hours.
Nick has started commuting with a coworker to and from work which has helped so much. He is also been very busy driving Ben where he needs to go, since Ben can't drive right now.
Sorry we were so busy we didn't get any pictures.

Nick has started commuting with a coworker to and from work which has helped so much. He is also been very busy driving Ben where he needs to go, since Ben can't drive right now.
Sorry we were so busy we didn't get any pictures.

Time Flies
I don't know if its business, laziness or tiredness, bit sorry for the long delay.
So here are the quick high lights
Dreigan:
On Tuesday September 2nd Dreigan received his Bobcat and Wolf ranks, five belt loop, and a few other awards GO Dreigan! He also had more family their to support him than all the other kids combined. What can we say but we all love Dreigan.

Of course that above passage makes Dreigan behavior all the more frustrating. Christi has been on the phone with Dreigan's school almost everyday for the last three weeks. At the start of school Dreigan was placed on Depakote, with little to no positive effect. It didn't control his moods as it was suppose to and seemed to make the Stattera not work at all. Thus giving him absolutely no impulse control. Well on Monday the 8th we took him to the doctor where it was noticed he had broken out into hives, meaning he is allergic to Depakote.
We are still working closely with the doctors, it is very possible that we will have to hospitalize Dreigan to get his meds right and it looks as if for now he will be returning to the contained classroom from mainstreaming. Please continue to send your love, support, and prayers this way as we try to find our way through this.
Fionna
She has settled into to Kindergarten after a bit of a rough start. She relapsed on the 3rd being sick and spent the day home. Also on the 9th her school call to say she was missing a vaccination. The county health department is moving this week so they weren't doing shots. She had an appointment on Thursday the 11th with our PCP. When we got to the doctor's office according to their records she had had the missing shot. So missed days for nothing. It also seems that her troubles with a bully have seemed to settle out.
Naya
Naya has taken some big steps to staying clean and proud and dry.
Naked dish washing after an accident in which she stripped ALL her clothes.
She now goes to the bathroom to go potty even if she only makes it 50% of the time. On Friday the 12 she spent the day with Grump Paul , she had mixed feeling about this. We know it was good for her though and her relationship with Paul. We also took her to the circus for the first time in her memory. Last time she was just short her first birthday. She thought she was pretty cool. She loved the elephants. She did say no pictures please sorry.
Christi
Started her new job in a way. On the 4th she started doing 4hrs a day teaching and 4hrs a day FSAing. The only problem both these jobs are full time jobs and she is expected to complete all the work that goes with those toe 40 hr week jobs in just 40 hrs a week. Well there is a light on the 15th she starts her new position full time. Thank God for small favors. To get caught up Christi spent four hours on Saturday just finishing what what had to be done for the woman who is taking over the caseload. Nick says he hasn't seen Christi so happy and relaxed in a while, doing what she loves. On Wednesday the 10 the kids helped Christi make play dough for her classroom.

Nick
Just plots. He works 40+ hours a week. He did stay home sick himself and with Fionna, since she couldn't go to school until she received her phantom shot, on Wednesday the 10th.
Friday the 12 night be complete accident we had dinner with Jim and Susie. We all turned up at the same restruant at the same time. I love happy coincidents!
As I said on the 14th the family went to the circus. The kids really seemed to enjoy it. Dreigan loved the stunts motorcycle drivers.
Fionna loved the acrobats "dancing in the air",
Naya loved the animals especially the elephants. You have to admire the acrobats in a small circus they perform three or four diffrent acts

to work or no to work
This week brought the need for many missed hours of work.
On Monday Christi had difficulty holding down anything and was promptly sent home from work. She also had an OB appointment which went well, all is exactly as expected. Dr Chang believes its just a stomach bug, not so sure ourselves. Christi also kept Naya with her because when she went to drop her off at Karen's (the babysitter), she found that Karen had been thrown from her horse and could barely move. Karen was still planning on keeping Naya. Christi decided it was better for Naya to stay with mom.

Tuesday kept Christi home as well for more than one reason. First off she was still ill to her stomach. Second the green vans tailgate had jammed open. It was very weird. It took Nick over an hour and Donna and Christi another hour of fussing with it to get it unjammed. It seems to be working now. Thank God that could have been expensive. We are not sure what happened, we think we might have been bumped at the grocery store Monday night. Tuesday night also brought the girl scout recruitment night, now we officially have one cub scout and one daisy scout.
Wednesday brought everyone back at work and school. Christi was going to spend the next three days at San Juan College in mandatory training. While she was there she discovered that the theater department was having additions for "The Importance of Being Ernest". Nick and Christi did not audition but we are thinking about doing a little back stage work.

Thursday was a lesson in patients for Christi. On Wednesday night Christi received a letter from the Medicaid office stating that they needed a copy Christi's birth certificate before Friday. The only problem is she was in training during their limited office hours to get one, she could not find her copy. Well she got permission to leave work a little early before the last session since it wasn't a corporate competency. Well the problem was CYFD and child abuse which is required ran over by 40 minutes. So Christi walked in to the vital records office right at closing time and they had already closed the office and refused to help even though their clock said straight-up four. She was very upset at their lack of customer service, which was a three hour training she had just gone through the day before. Not to mention the paperwork mess this will most likely cause with the kids' Medicaid.
Friday found Fionna getting sick at school. It took over two hours for someone to be able to go and get her. It ended up being Nick after Christi brought him the van. In all this we forgot to call the Myers, friends from scouts, who going to watch Dreigan and Fionna since the Boy's and Girl's club closed for the day. Well this panicked them when Fionna did not arrive at their house and they went looking for her. We were eventually able to clarify things. I am very thankful for such good friends who care for my children as they would their own.

Saturday was spent doing house work and working on finishing details for Dreigan's advancement ceremony.
Sunday we made cookies for the ceremony.

school days
Monday brought much tears and fighting as the kids didn't want to get up early and start getting ready for school, especially since they didn't really have anywhere to go. They spent the whole day home with Donna.Tuesday was up early again but this time at least the kids had dentist appointments. Thank God for Donna as Nick and Christi had to work. All three kids had a good exam no cavities. It is possible that Naya is missing a set of permanent teeth. The dentist wasn't completely sure because her x-rays were blurry, It's kind-of hard to x-ray a not quite three year olds mouth. We will have to wait to see for when she is big enough to take clear x-rays. Dreigan also so had scouts. The finale meeting before the advancement ceremony, if you re going to be there please let me know.
Wednesday brought a stay home day for Nick, Dreigan, Fionna and Naya. The last day of summer vacation. Naya decided to entertain us with a 15-20 minute oration. We were able to catch part of it on the digital camera.
Thursday brought Dreigan's first day. We are very proud of him. Despite his protestations he got himself on the bus on time without any adult prompting. Nick and Christi had already gone to work and he let Donna sleep. There was also a meeting with Fionna's Kindergarten teacher Ms Mary. It went okay, Fionna likes her and that is what matters. Christi also had Roundtable, adult boy scouts, in order to get popcorn information. That's right popcorn time is here so be prepared Dreigan will be asking if you want some. I am also told to tell Paul to get his butt back in scouts.
Friday brought Fionna's first day in Kindergarten. Can you believe it. She came home just bubbling and so excited.
Saturday the kids spent the night with Cathy and Steve, giving Nick and Christi some much needed alone time.
Sunday was Steve's birthday so to celebrate we went to Cathy and Steve's for dinner. It was so good. Happy birthday Steve. We love you.

calling all family members
Dreigan needs your help.
First off if your going to be in the county on September 2nd, we would like to invite you to an advancement ceremony for Dreigan in Cub scouts. He has earned his Wolf rank. The ceremony will start at 6:30 at Bloomfield United Methodist Church. Please let us know if you can attend or can't (if you live in San Juan county).
Second for the ceremony we need a 2 foot long or so wooden arrowhead. If you are able to help to create this please let us know Dreigan would be more than happy to come and help. We just need to arrange it. Let me know so that I can get you more specifics.

The Last Week of Summer

Dreigan refuses to believe it but its true. The kids go back to school next week.
Monday was rough we decided to get the kids up early to start getting used to it again for school. Dreigan did not like it at all. In fact he says "I'm not going back. I'm done with school."
Tuesday marked the girls last day of dance for the summer program. They will restart again on September 2nd. There also was cub scouts which had an early adult meeting as we gear up for the start of the next school. Our Cub Master is very new and didn't listen when I told him that he had things he needed to do for the boys to get their rank patches, you would think 17 years in scouting would mean I know something. I don't think he can get past my gender. After all I'm just a girl, how much can I know about Boy Scouts, despite the fact I was an official Boy Scout as a youth twice as long as he was and went to resident camp i.e. Rand three summer more than he did. I guess I will always run into guys like him in Boy Scouts, all the more reason for me to be there. Thanks Dad for supporting and teaching me how to deal with them.
Wednesday I had an OB appointment with Dr Chang's nurse, Dr Cassidy referred me there because I'm borderline high risk. Mostly because of Naya's size, if this baby is bigger, oh my! All went well mostly we filled out paperwork.

Thursday I was offered a two teaching positions at head start toddlers or Pre-k. I have decided to take the one in the 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 year old room. It will be more pay and better hours, plus I will stay in Bloomfield closer to the kids.
Friday we went to the county fair. You must excuse the pictures I was working PMS's booth so Dreigan took them all. The kids loved the animals.
Saturday the pack went to the Farmington Museum. If you haven't taken the time to see how they have updated it from when they were on Orchard, now they are on Main, I highly recommend it. The have a section dedicated to oil and gas and how they do what they do. Its pretty cool and doesn't take to long. They have also updated the history portion from Anasazi to now. I was disappointed with the boys. The adults kept trying to show them diffrent and interesting facts and all they wanted to do was play and screw around. They almost missed the two headed calf. They aren't going to be happy next time when I make them right reports, but most of this goes toward their advancement and what's the point if they are messing around. I know a couple of them were in a hurry to get to the gift shop to get candy. My kids and another family weren't allowed to have candy. Dreigan took it well, so I rewarded him with a coloring book about Navajo Code Talkers, he's in to them right now. There was a Code Talker at the Fourth of July concert he was so excited, I think that was the first time he really realized that they are living breathing men, who live right here near him.

Sunday has been spent hanging out and playing. The kids need it before school starts. Dreigan starts 3rd grade and if you missed it, that's a No Child Left Behind testing year. That means all third graders are expected to take and pass a standardized test. You should see the list of accommodation in place to help Dreigan pass. Fionna starts Kindergarten and it ain't what you remember either, thanks to NCLB. She is expected to be reading before she can go on to 1st grade, that's right reading. Good thing she is excited to learn to read and is well on her way with knowing all the letter and their basic sounds and around 20 or so sight words. Lara and Lindsey consider your selfs warned. Children who are lucky enough to get to stay with mom can start Kindergarten significantly behind both socially and academically. Kindergarteners are expected to come in knowing all the basics already, colors, shapes, letters, recognizing their name, and how to function in a group. Basically what we learned in first grade in now Kindergarten, and what we learned in Kindergarten in now preschool/Pre-K.
Sorry for the rant, it must be the mood I'm in today.

Too busy or too tired?
To tell the truth I'm not sure which. You decide. The quick version of the last two weeks.
Monday-D started back with his play therapist long story.
Tuesday-F & N dance
Wednesday- D & F bowling
Thursday-
Friday-Fionna went to ABQ and Cliffs with boys and girls club
Saturday-Back to school shopping (tax free weekend)
Sunday-sleeping
Monday- D & F VBS, N couldn't go she still wears diapers
Tuesday-D&F VBS, D Connie Mack, F&N dance & D scouts
Wednesday-D&F VBS & skating
Thursday- D&F VBS & bowling
Friday-D&F VBS and finale splash down at Boys and Girls club
Saturday- yard work
Sunday- VBS music at service
Okay so it's all the kids activities but getting them to where they need to go and working 40hrs a week is about all the energy we have. You would also think as busy as they have been all summer they wouldn't be bored but they are. The big kids have started in on each other we can't wait for the last ten days of summer. Fionna starts Kindergarten on the 20th and Dreigan starts 3rd grade on the 21st
It also rained here in Bloomfield about 4 inches this week. It poured for an hour+ Tues, Weds, Thurs, & Fri. I forgot how hard and much it can rain here. Now of course all our weeds are out of control.

caugh caugh hack hack
This week was excruciatingly slow. Christi spent the whole week in bed sick with bronchitis, well most of it. Naya is also having a difficult time with the baby, in the picture below she crawled into a box covered herself up and then proceeded to pretend to be a baby. All week long she has insisted she is a baby and refused to do any big kid skills like the potty and her pacifier which she had almost stopped. Please help us to remind Naya of all the cool big kid thing she gets to do now and encourage her to be a big gril.
Monday was as normal as ever even though Christi didn't feel good everyone went to their respective daytime activities. Christi was babied at work due to the pregnancy and sounding and feeling sick. You have to love Hispanic Grandma's.
Tuesday brought Christi calling in to work but didn't stay home real well, instead she tagged along with Donna and Naya running errands and then dropped Donna and the girls at dance. While they were dancing she took Dreigan to the Cardiolab at SJRMC to have an EKG. Don't worry it just a standard test for his cardiology appointment on Thursday.
Wednesday brought Christi feeling worse, probably should have stayed home on Tuesday. In fact by the time Nick got home that evening Christi was wheezing so bad he promptly loaded everyone back up in the van and took Christi to ICC. Thanks Cathy and Steve for watching the kids. Christi's o2 levels were low but not bad. She was order to stay home the rest of the week and placed on antibiotics.
Thursday Dreigan had his routine Cardiology appointment. Everything looks good he doesn't have to been seen again for two years, and he can stay on his meds. Good thing his teacher might have revolted if we took him off. Please pray for Dreigan he hasn't seen Dextin (his biological Dad) in a while and he is feeling it. I know he is grieving, but it doesn't make the angry outbursts any better. It can be very hard on Nick who takes the brunt of it for multiple reasons.
Friday and Saturday brought more rest for Christi who is finally beginning to feel better. Nick, Dreigan and Fionna also worked to clean up the shed so that Fionna and Naya can use it as a play house. Which reminds me last week Sam's club had a wooden child's play house for about $300 would we like to buy Fionna one big present this year for her birthday? She was very excited by it. The picture below is the girls attempt at make-up using makers. Thank God Crayola is washable.

A long week
This week was very long and I don't know how to even explain it. I am going to to forgo my usual format, for awhile. So Here goes.
This all started in March Christi has been feeling very ill since then. She has been having diarrhea, nausea, fatigue, a moderate stomach ache, and long breaks between very heavy periods. So on the last Thursday in June she went to see her doctor to try to discover what is going on. During he exam Dr Cassidy felt an abnormal mass and was concerned be the tenderness in Christi's belly, so blood work, and two ultrasounds were ordered.
Blood work came back last week for the most part results were good. Cholesterol was low, sugar was normal and so on. The only two that didn't come back as suspected was the cancer marker was high and the pregnancy test came back positive. Don't get to excited there was nothing definitive until after the ultrasounds. Those two test together can mean a few diffrent thing, also don't forget the unexplained mass.
Monday-Christi had her first ultrasound, this one was uterine. It was there we saw a six to seven week old pregnancy right were it's suppose to be and heard a heart beat. It was wonderful news under the circumstance. Okay you can get excited now. Also in the evening we went over to Paul's and met Teresa (Paul's new girlfriend)
Tuesday brought the second ultrasound, I have not gotten the report back on this one, but in this one they were looking for endometriosis, which is uterine lining outside the uterus on other organs. The kids also had dance and scouts. At scouts Paul (Christi's Dad) came and taught the boys wood working. Thanks Dad for your help the boys really enjoyed it.
Wednesday we went shopping for our camping trip
Thursday we packed for camping and met with Dr Chang the high risk OB in town. He didn't see any thing to be to overly concerned, but he did warn that the high cancer marker while it might just be normal for me it could mean a miscarriage later into what is the normal time period and or pre-term labor.
Friday after work we joined Cathy, Steve, and the pack at La Plata canyon for a weekend of family camping fun. Here are few pictures of all our fun
A fawn we got to see very up close. Don't worry Mommy was near by and we didn't touch.

Saturday we took a truck ride up the canyon to look at rocks and play in snow in the morning and went on hike to find a mine above our campground. They never found it, the adults over estimated what a 6-9 year olds can do.

Sunday we drove up to the mine at the top of La Plata Canyon to collect more rocks for the boys belt loops.
The Mine
Then we packed up and came home very dirty and tired.
